Epiphan Broadcaster Lite converts control room and other system displays into camera sources for Omnicast security recording systems

“We are pleased that a number of joint customers and partners encouraged Epiphan and Omnicast to work together and bring an integrated solution to market so quickly and efficiently”

August 31, 2011, Ottawa, Canada — Epiphan Systems Inc. announced that VGA Broadcaster Lite™ is the first product to be integrated as a VGA/DVI/HDMI™ display to H.264 camera source converter for Genetec’s Omnicast 4.7 video surveillance solution. VGA Broadcaster Lite enables Omnicast customers to convert control room display sources, or any other equipment with a standard display source, to appear as security cameras to the Omnicast security recording system. VGA Broadcaster Lite passively and non-obtrusively intercepts the display source without requiring any software or hardware changes to the display sources.  VGA Broadcaster Lite converts the VGA, DVI, or HDMI display source to appear as an H.264 camera source stream to the Omnicast security recording system. “We are pleased that a number of joint customers and partners encouraged Epiphan and Omnicast to work together and bring an integrated solution to market so quickly and efficiently”, says Mike Sandler, CEO Epiphan Systems Inc. “Genetec has integrated VGA Broadcaster-Lite as an H.264 hardware encoder – camera source converter streaming hardware appliance with Omnicast.” saysMorgan Pasnon, Senior Technology Alliance Manager,  Genetec.  “Omnicast 4.7 now includes built-in support for Epiphan’s VGA Broadcaster Lite”.
