Crestron AirMedia technology turns any display into a wireless collaboration hub. Its certified peripheral ecosystem has centered on conferencing hardware, which left professional SDI equipment outside the room. A broadcast camera, a production switcher, or an existing SDI feed needed a workaround to reach an AirMedia session.
AV.io SDI+ is now certified under Crestron’s Works with AirMedia program. Connect a 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, or SD-SDI source to one end and the AirMedia receiver to the other, and AirMedia recognizes the feed as a certified video source. No drivers to install, no configuration to manage.
That single change opens up a lot of rooms. A PTZ camera with SDI out becomes an AirMedia camera. A production switcher feeding program output over SDI becomes an AirMedia source. Overflow feeds, document cameras, medical scopes, and installed SDI infrastructure all reach AirMedia without replacing what is already in the rack.
AV.io SDI+ connects to the AirMedia receiver over USB 3.0 and captures at up to 1080p, handling scaling automatically so the image adjusts to whatever the receiving software expects. Audio arrives over the SDI embedded channel, the 3.5 mm input, or both at once.
The Works with AirMedia program validates partners who extend the capabilities of AirMedia technology. Certified products are tested for interoperability, so integrators specifying AV.io SDI+ can deploy with confidence and point to Crestron’s own validation rather than a compatibility claim.
Epiphan now appears among the certified partners on Crestron’s Works with AirMedia page, alongside Biamp, Cisco, Logitech, Q-SYS, Sennheiser, and Shure.
EC20 outputs SDI, which makes it a strong fit for AirMedia rooms that call for broadcast-grade optics. Run EC20 over SDI into AV.io SDI+ and the camera reaches AirMedia with 4K optics, AI presenter tracking, and 20x zoom behind it, captured at 1080p.
For classrooms and meeting rooms already standardized on Crestron, that pairing brings professional camera work into a wireless presentation system without adding a PC or a separate encoder.
AV.io SDI+ is available now. See the product page for specs and pricing, or read more about the Works with Crestron AirMedia Technology program on Crestron’s site.
