You can order the LiveScrypt hardware from any of our channel partners.  Use our handy dealer locator  to find a dealer nearest to you.

When you first get LiveScrypt you must pair it with Epiphan Cloud and enter a valid credit card (which will be charged monthly for the per-hour usage that the system is operated for).

Note that once LiveScrypt is paired to Epiphan Cloud you do not need Epiphan Cloud to operate LiveScrypt. However, if you want access to changing the URL that the transcription is streamed to, or to download the .SRT or .TXT transcription files, you must do that through Epiphan Cloud.

No, LiveScrypt is not a video encoder. LiveScrypt is a dedicated automatic transcription device powered by advanced speech recognition technology. While video inputs can be used (such as HDMI, SDI, and USB/UVC), LiveScrypt extracts only the embedded audio signal.

Audio sources are connected directly to the LiveScrypt device, which sends a single, combined mono audio signal to the cloud for transcription. The transcribed text is output to your in-room display (using the HDMI output port) and streamed so that the transcription can be viewed using personal smart devices over the internet. After the event ends. you can download a .TXT or .SRT file from Epiphan Cloud.

The LiveScrypt device must be paired with Epiphan Cloud and transcription services enabled. A valid credit card is needed to set up the service. Once LiveScrypt is paired, you do not need Epiphan Cloud to operate LiveScrypt. Simply tap the green Start button in the top left corner using the LiveScrypt touch screen to start the transcription. Transcription shows up on the touch screen, monitor connected to the HDMI output port on the device, and on the web interface. But you can certainly control transcription remotely from the cloud too.

If you want to change the URL that the transcription is streamed to, or to download the .TXT or .SRT transcription files, you can do that from Epiphan Cloud.

.

You can download .SRT or .TXT files of the transcription from Epiphan Cloud following an event.

Your monthly billing period begins the day your credit card information is entered into AV Studio. At the end of each monthly billing period, the total sum of all LiveScrypt transcription sessions for that billing period is calculated and charged to your account. A transcription session starts when you press the Start button and ends when you press Stop. If no LiveScrypt transcription services are used during a billing period, then no charge is made to your credit card for that billing period.

We understand the importance of testing equipment to ensure every meeting and conference goes on as scheduled. That’s why the first 5 minutes of a LiveScrypt transcription session is free. You can use this time to test your setup and ensure LiveScrypt is ready when you are.

After the first 5 minutes, a transcription rate of US$9.95 per session hour applies for the duration of the current transcription session. The US$9.95 per hour rate is applied at the beginning of each consecutive hour of a LiveScrypt transcription session. After you stop a transcription session, pressing Start will start a new transcription session and the per-hour billing cycle resets.

For example:

  • If your LiveScrypt transcription session lasts 45 minutes, the cost is US$9.95 (i.e. one hour at the rate of US$9.95 per hour).
  • If your LiveScrypt transcription session lasts 1.25 hours, the cost is US$19.90 (i.e. two hours at the rate of US$9.95 per hour).
  • If you have two LiveScrypt transcription sessions that last 10 minutes each, the cost is US$19.90 (i.e. 2 x one hour sessions at the rate of US$9.95 per hour).

A session timer on the touch screen of the LiveScrypt device and in AV Studio is there to help you keep track of the length of each transcription session.

00:00: to 04:59 = Free

05:00 to 59:00 = US$9.95

60:00 to 119:59 = US$19.90   etc.

LiveScrypt will automatically stop transcribing after 8 hours of continuous operation to prevent this from happening. So at worst, there would be a US$80 fee associated with accidentally leaving the system operational.

Updates to LiveScrypt are pushed to the hardware on an “as needed” basis to add new features and fix possible bugs. Once the update has been sent to the device, restarting it will apply the changes so that the system will always be on the latest and most stable version.

There are three ways to start LiveScrypt:

  1. Tap the Start button on the hardware
  2. Access the web-UI, which is a replication of the front screen of the LiveScrypt hardware
  3. Log into Epiphan Cloud and begin the transcription from there
