Transportation System Recording

Situation: Transportation systems of today incorporate very sophisticated monitoring and control systems for scheduling, operation, and safety. Traditionally, all of these systems are recorded onto standard VHS tape. While this solves the problem of backing up visual records, it also comes with a number of problems. In terms of quality, the visual signal is immediately degraded the moment the signal gets converted from digital (VGA) to analogue (RCA Video). In addition, the rack of VHS recording devices requires the VHS tapes to be changed every 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
