Ultra low latency streaming?

Is anyone using Pearl for ultra-low latency streaming? I’m interested in using it to send audio to a remote CART tech, but the best latency I can get is 2 seconds with the RTSP feed and I’d like to have sub 1-sec latency. I’m wondering if there’s something I could do with the encoder settings to bring it down

Hi Jesse, the encoder settings won’t help much here, as the Pearl is already capturing the source signal and pushing out the stream in under about 200ms. The largest part of the latency here will be caching of the player, I would recommend using VLC for this purpose to open the RTSP stream, then you will be able to set the caching value. I have had good results with caching of 300ms resulting in a total latency of around 500ms (0.5 seconds).
