Feature requests Webcaster X2

Thanks, George! Look forward to what comes out.

I wish we could to record our live show clean videofeeds from the USB and HDMI on the SD micro slot of the webcaster x2 in case of video stream droppouts, so you can normal upload the video or personal archive.

Yeah get the SD Card slot in use!

Unfortunately the Webcaster x2 is simply a hardware streaming encoder with no recording features available. The micro SD card slot is used in conjunction with the AV studio platform and acts as a buffer for cloud storage-based recordings. If you are interested in learning more about AV studios you can learn more here https://www.avstudio.com/

When streaming to Youtube or Facebook, if the stream is under 4 hours in length and if “continuous streaming” has not been enabled (off by default,) then the stream should convert to a video on demand (VOD) after the stream has ended. You can download the stream from the video manager section on Facebook or Youtube.

I already use a small Behringer USB mixer as an audio input on my Webcaster and it works like a charm. I am using a shotgun mic with XLR. A big sound improvement!

Custom RTMP would take the X2 to the next level, +1 from me

I can confirm Webcaster x2 working with SABRENT USB AUDIO STEREO SOUND ADAPTER AU-MMSA (7dlls on amazon) You can connect mic or mixer with a 3.5 plug. PROBLEM: Disabled my logitech 920c Web camera. So choose to use one or the other for now.

What exact Model do you use?

BAD NEWS. It stopped working. I was able to stream with it. In fact, I have the steamed saved with audio sent by a sony lapel mic connected to the USB Adapter but now I get no sound or ‘tink tink tink’ really fast noise.

Sad. I just ordered it!

Hi Arturo, did you have any audio sync issues with video from an HDMI-connected camera?

Oops, missed that…

Maybe you have better luck with it JohnnieW. Question…You previously posted that you were able to plug in a Behringer USB Mixer (model?). Was that plugged directly to the Webcaster x2 via USB or on the camera mic input.

It may be an overkill, but… You can easily make a tiny usb button with Arduino SS Micro board (atmega32u4 16mhz).

And this button will do what?

You can program it to do whatever you want. This board could be programmed to be a USB keyboard, mouse or gamepad. Or everything at once. Pressing “space” as a keyboard would be very simple task for it

Once you ‘pair’ the device and have everything set you can send the command to start or stop streaming with the ‘on button’. I tried that yesterday. You can also see a video from epiphan when they take the webcaster x2 mobile and explain that feature, you just have to set the webcaster x2 up previously… hmmm can think of anything else (on the moment) for an extra button. (Besides all of the functions a keyboard gives you)

If you don’t want to bring a full keyboard with you then it would make sense to have just 1 button for a function your need. My replay was to “Switching between HDMI camera and webcam with the mouse. No need to bring a keyboard for tapping the space bar.”

7 dlls (amazon) AU-MMSA USB SABRENT SOUND ADAPTER Worked again! here is the link…https://youtu.be/EtlBD2GKZJA

Sorry I used an old webcam to to record, but the audio from the Zoom H4n Pro is Great.

The thing is that sometimes it works, others it wont… here is the link when the audio didnt worked https://youtu.be/tEVm8s5AIr8

Same settings same connections. I just turned the webcaster x2 off and on the second try it worked.

I still ordered the BlackBird HDMI Audio Inserter to be on the safe side. (50 dlls aaawgg!)

Hope Epiphan solves a USB Audio solution like this. A lot cheaper and less weight to carry if going mobile with the webcaster x2.
