Video grabbers for 2k screen capture from VGA and DVI
Capture, Encode, Record and Stream 2k×2k Displays and Cameras
Epiphan provides a number of products for 2k screen capture. A large subset of Epiphan products capture, encode, record and stream high-resolution displays and cameras with resolutions up to 2048×2048 or 2560×1600 (WQXGA). Products families that do this include video grabbers (USB or PCIe based) or standalone systems or devices that encode, record and stream.
These field-proven products have been used to capture, record and stream video from radar, air traffic control, medical, security and industrial displays. The architecture is such that no software needs to be installed on the display being captured, thus does not interfere, nor does it require changes to the video display being captured.
Dual Link DVI
Dual Link or 2k VGA Frame Grabber with Capture Computer
Epiphan Frame Grabbers are used to capture and digitize a video signal into a bit stream sent to a capture computer, running software that captures, records and/or streams the digitized video source. The software can be Epiphan’s free capture tool, or a 3rd party application using standard operating system camera interfaces such as DirectShow, QuickTime or Video4Linux, or custom built applications using Epiphan’s SDK/API. The Epiphan software and drivers also allow advanced users to change CODECs or configure existing CODEC options. Epiphan’s architecture supports the installation of multiple frame grabbers in the same host computer. The highest performance frame grabber is DVI2PCIe Duo – A lossless frame grabber capture devices that captures a high resolution VGA or DVI or DVI-Dual Link video source up to 2048 x 2048, digitizes and transmits to a capture computer over PCIe. This device also supports an SDI video source.
VGA2USB Pro is a portable USB2 frame grabber capture device that captures a VGA video source up to 2048 x 2048, digitizes and transmits to a capture computer over USB2. The system performance is lower because of the USB2 data link, but this device is more portable since it simply connects via USB to the capture computer.
DVI2USB Duo is a portable USB2 frame grabber capture that captures Dual Link DVI video sources up to 2048 x 2048, and transmits images to a capture computer over USB2.
Integrated Portable Encoder, Recorder and Streaming Device
DVI Broadcaster DL is a portable system, that integrates capture, encoding, recording and streaming into stand alone device for Dual Link DVI Display video or camera systems. No capture computer is required and the video stream can be recorded or streamed to standard browsers, media players or set top boxes. DVI-Broadcaster DL provides hardware based scaling, encoding, recording and streaming of the Dual Link DVI video source. The form factor is ideal for installation at work stations such as air traffic control positions where the display can be shared with remote locations, or recorded for future training and incident reporting.
Integrated Multi-Source, Multi Channel Encoder, Recorder and Streaming Systems
Epiphan’s Professional series of recording and streaming systems are integrated systems to capture, encode, record and stream Dual Link DVI and 2k VGA Video sources, in addition to secondary video sources.
The multi-source systems are ideal in order to create one or more picture with picture output streams. No capture computer is required and the output video streams can be recorded or streamed to standard browsers, media players or set top boxes. These systems provide scaling, encoding, recording and streaming of the video sources for one or more output streams.
Each output stream can be customized for the application in terms of layout, branding, frame size, frame rate, bit rate, etc. Each model has different options in terms of the number of primary sources, secondary video sources, internal storage size and form factor. Click the links below for additional information and specifications. VGADVI Recorder Pro has two inputs for 2k VGA or Dual Link DVI Video Sources and two optional secondary S-video/Composite inputs.
VGA Grid has six inputs for 2k VGA or Dual Link DVI Video Sources and six secondary S-video/Composite inputs. This model’s storage configuration can go up to 6 TB, with options for SSD and removable drives. This system is ideal for high value simulations, flight tests, ship tests, and multi-player video game development.
