Switch video sources live
Pearl is a video mixer! Use the touch screen or the web UI to preview and change the live content. Changes are reflected immediately in your video stream and on displays connected to Pearl’s video output ports.
Monitoring and switching made easy
Epiphan Live provides a simplified user experience for monitoring and live-switching your event. Use it to control your streaming and recording from any mobile device or computer on your local network.
Keep your recordings safe
With up to 1 TB of storage, Pearl can hold hundreds of hours of HD recordings. You can also configure automatic file transfer to a local USB drive or to a network drive using SFTP, FTP, RSYNC, SCP or CIFS.
Pearl records in MP4, MOV, AVI or MPEG-TS format. You can configure how large or how long the files are before a new file starts, and you can customize the filename prefix too.
Create custom layouts
Use the web UI to arrange your video sources into custom layouts
- Crop and resize up to 4 video sources to create completely custom layouts (including picture in picture)
- Add images including backgrounds and transparent pngs for overlays
- Include date, timestamping or other text
- Add a 720 p chroma key source such as a title
Be confident about quality
Use Pearl’s touch screen to scroll through your channels to monitor what’s being captured, streamed and recorded. Monitor audio using the front-mounted 3.5 mm audio jack and on-screen VU meter.
Plug and play, or tweak to perfection
Let Pearl set everything for you automatically, or take advantage of the web UI to configure bitrate, frame size, layouts, overlays and more! NEW! – Start and stop streaming and recording from the touch screen with the new One Touch button.
Use Pearl’s built-in streaming server to share via unicast or multicast stream to up to 50 viewers. Select from live streaming formats including HTTP, FLV, ASF, MJPEG and HLS to stream video to media players and web browsers or UPnP and SAP sharing to stream to Smart TVs and set top boxes.
Stream to CDNs
Multi-Publish your live video stream to a large audience using an enterprise streaming server or CDN using RTMP or RTSP. Want to use two CDNs or stream to both a CDN and an enterprise server? No problem, just click to add a new stream, and you’ll publish the same video to both places simultaneously.
Output video for local displays
Show content to front of house or send it to a larger confidence monitor with Pearl’s two video output ports. Configure to show any input source or any channel at up to 1080p.
Capture ISOs in full detail
Stream your content picture in picture, with any desired resolution, while also recording original, high quality ISOs for post-processing. For high-density solutions, we suggest using Pearl Rackmount Twin with one embedded Pearl doing streaming, and the other dedicated to recording ISOs.
Pearl integrates easily with content management systems (CMS) and with learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Kaltura, Mediasite and Moodle. Our customers love Pearl because it works with the systems you already have in place.
Get stunning HD video
Harness the power of Pearl’s video encoder. For maximum compatibility with video players and superb encoding performance, Pearl’s default video codec is H.264, backed with hardware-accelerated encoding. You can also choose from MPEG-4 or M-JPEG.
Crystal clear audio, fully synchronized to video
Using incoming signals over the HDMI, SDI or TRS ports, Pearl embeds high quality encoded sound into your video stream. Use the default AAC audio at 320 kbps, or select from AAC, MP3 or PCM audio with stereo or mono with bitrates up from 32 to 320 kbps and sampling at 22 to 48 kHz.
Pearl can travel in style…or stay put
The portable version of Pearl comes with a lightweight, hard-shell custom carry case to protect it while traveling. This version also has an optional rack-mount tray to secure it to a portable or fixed server rack.
The rackmount versions of Pearl are designed from the ground-up for rack installation and include integrated power supplies and front-mounted USB ports for easier access.
