Palo Alto, CA, June 9, 2020 – Epiphan Video, a leader in professional audiovisual capture, recording, and streaming products, unveils exciting new features coming to the Pearl family of all-in-one video production systems.
The addition of streaming protocols SRT, HLS (push), and MPEG-DASH (push) this month catapults the company’s Pearl family of all-in-one streaming products to the leading edge of streaming technology trends.
“SRT, HLS , and MPEG-DASH are the streaming protocols of the future,” says David Kirk, VP of Marketing at Epiphan. “They’re more efficient, cost less to deploy, and are better in terms of delivering quality over less than ideal networks.”
SRT in particular offers great promise and delivers low-latency streaming with pristine-quality video and audio over the widely available Internet, making hosting live events with guests from around the world more accessible.
“We’re proud to be a certified, SRT-ready member of the SRT Alliance,” continued Kirk. “As more and more service providers deploy these newer streaming protocols, Epiphan products are positioned to remain leaders during the technological shift in the industry.”
Rounding out the array of modern protocols in this release are HLS , originally developed by Apple, and MPEG-DASH, an open-source project spearheaded by the International Organization for Standards (ISO) to develop the next wave of better streaming technology over HTTP and HTTPS. Plus a number of other updates are included for an improved user experience.
Companies count on Epiphan Video’s award-winning AV hardware and cloud services for a wide range of applications – from live event production and lecture capture to video training and usability testing.
