Epiphan Video to exhibit new cutting-edge live production technology at ISE 2017

Pearl-2 family

Palo Alto, CA, February 3, 2017 – Epiphan Video, an industry leader in professional audiovisual capture, recording, and streaming products, is exhibiting at the 2017 Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show in Amsterdam, NL from February 7–10.

Stationed in Hall 13 at Stand 13-D110, Epiphan will be demonstrating their latest firmware for their leading-edge live production products, including their AV.io line of portable capture cards; all-in-one live production appliance, Pearl-2™; and social media streaming devices, Webcaster X1 for YouTube™ and Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live™. The company will also be providing a sneak peek of their new cloud-based post-production solution currently in development, codenamed “Cirrus”.

“4K live event production is already here with Pearl-2, and we’re excited to begin preparing for post-production in the cloud with Cirrus.”

Cirrus consists of encoders that broadcast each video source over the Internet to the cloud. When the encoder streams are received by the Cirrus cloud, remote operators can monitor and edit their broadcast for a simplified and professional post-production workflow.

“4K live event production is already here with Pearl-2, and we’re excited to begin preparing for post-production in the cloud with Cirrus,” says David Kirk, VP of Product Management. “With this product preview, we’re looking forward to providing attendees with a glimpse of what the future holds for professional cloud-based post-production technology while also getting some early impressions from potential customers.”

Pearl-2 is Epiphan’s next-generation live production switcher appliance. A follow-up to the massively popular Pearl system, Pearl-2 features powerful 4K encoding capabilities and enhanced processing power in portable and rackmount form factors. Pearl-2 retains all the valuable features that defined Pearl as a standout live production device, such as custom program layouts, live switching, a tablet-based control interface, and simultaneous encoding, streaming, and recording.

“Our goal…is to help content creators promote their brands and deliver the best possible live broadcast for their followers by making social streaming easy and accessible.”

The new Pearl-2 Rackmount™ and Pearl-2 Rackmount Twin™ product models will be showcased alongside with the latest Pearl-2 firmware upgrade. This upgrade features enhanced source cropping, precision audio delay control, the ability to use USB webcams as sources, and an improved method for publishing multiple programs to different CDNs simultaneously.

Also on display at the Epiphan booth are the AV.io family of portable video grabbers. Recognized as webcams when connected to a user’s computer, these devices capture 4K HDMI™, HDMI, SDI, or DVI sources and output the signal via USB 3.0 without the need to install driver software. Used in conjunction with the new Pearl-2 webcam source input feature, users can effectively add an additional HDMI, SDI, or DVI source to their live production, as needed.

Epiphan’s Webcaster X1 social media streaming devices will also be available for demo. These simple-to-use products allow professional content creators to easily stream their HDMI source to Facebook Live or YouTube, depending on the product model. Users link the Webcaster X1 device to their social media account and enter a randomly-generated device code to begin the stream. Optionally, users can also choose to monitor their broadcast and interact with viewers using an external
display monitor.

“It’s no secret that live streaming on social media platforms is becoming increasingly popular,” says Kirk. “Our goal with the Webcaster X1 products is to help content creators promote their brands and deliver the best possible live broadcast for their followers by making social streaming easy and accessible.”

In addition to comprehensive product demonstrations, Epiphan will be delivering four separate learning programs covering a variety of topics relating to live production, such as 4K live video streaming and emerging trends in social media streaming.

ISE the largest AV systems integration show in the world, with this year’s event expected to attract over 65,000 visitors and more than 1,100 exhibitors. Offering professional development programmes, exhibitor learning sessions, and various events, ISE is a valuable opportunity for distributors, integrators, manufacturers, and end-users to explore new technology, build business contacts, and promote their brands in the international Pro-AV landscape.
