Existing and new customers of Epiphan’s compact products can now stream directly to set-top boxes and smart TVs. The added functionality was added as part of Epiphan’s latest firmware update. No other equipment is necessary and streaming to Set-Top-Boxes and Smart TVs can be set up in a matter of minutes directly from the configuration menu of your Epiphan device. The following set-top box functionality has been added:
- MPEG-TS streaming over HTTP
- MPEG-TS push over RTP/UDP
- MPEG-TS push over UDP
- UPnP media server
- UPnP. Access to live streaming (MPEG-TS over HTTP)
- UPnP. Access to recorded files
- MPEG-TS recording
The latest firmware update (2.5.0) is compatible with the following current products:
Customers who are using the following legacy products may also update their firmware for increased functionality and set-top box compatiblity:
- VGA Broadcaster Lite
- VGA Recorder Lite
- Lecture Recorder
In order to update the firmware on your device, please connect it to the Internet and use the firmware update function.
