Epiphan Video launches latest-generation KVM solution

November 1, 2017

Palo Alto, CA, November 1, 2017 – Epiphan Video, a leader in professional audiovisual capture, recording, and streaming products, announced on October 31 the availability of their latest-generation KVM over USB product, KVM2USB 3.0.

KVM2USB 3.0™ is Epiphan’s new commercial-grade USB solution for emulating keyboard, mouse, and monitor (KVM) peripherals. The device features support for HDMI™, DVI, and VGA signals over USB 3.0 in resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps complete with the latest in capture technology.

“In addition to digital signal support, such as HDMI and DVI, we’re excited to offer UVC capture tech in KVM2USB 3.0,” says David Kirk, VP of Marketing, “USB 3.0 enables uncompressed video capture at native frame rates just as you would have when connecting a dedicated monitor.”

The UVC technology within KVM2USB 3.0 uses native drivers already installed on the user’s target computer, meaning there is no driver software required to install. Users can view and control any machine that uses a VGA, DVI or HDMI monitor and a normal USB keyboard and mouse using Epiphan’s KVM Control Application.

An essential piece of equipment for IT crash carts, KVM2USB 3.0 is ideal for maintenance of headless servers and other computer-based hardware through a remote KVM console application, such as TeamViewer.

KV2USB 3.0 is also useful for managing compartmentalized LANs, DMZs or contaminated equipment without the need to make connections that expose other equipment and networks to a compromised machine.
