“Our VGA2WEB customers ASKED us whether we could make voice conferencing as simple and cost-effective as we have made web conferencing. We took on the challenge and today we’re pleased to announce that VGA2WEB users now have one-click access to setting up ad-hoc voice conferences through the VGA2WEB interface. VGA2WEB works by broadcasting the video stream from any VGA port to the web.”

VGA2WEB instant web conference product now includes free, reservation-less voice conferencing feature.

22 Sptember 2004 – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada -The most cost-effective and convenient web conferencing solution now includes instant voice conferencing, says Epiphan Systems, makers of VGA2WEB. The product, which enables organizations to avoid costly collaboration software and service fees, now also includes an option to create conference bridges on an ad hoc basis. Mike Sandler, Epiphan’s President and CEO, said, “Our VGA2WEB customers ASKED us whether we could make voice conferencing as simple and cost-effective as we have made web conferencing. We took on the challenge and today we’re pleased to announce that VGA2WEB users now have one-click access to setting up ad-hoc voice conferences through the VGA2WEB interface. VGA2WEB works by broadcasting the video stream from any VGA port to the web”.

Through a private URL, conference participants can view the video stream being presented from a computer desktop, including mouse movements and direct memory access (DMA)-based camera streams. Through the product’s tablet PC interface, a presenter can include whiteboard-style drawing in the web presentation. Customers using the product’s Professional and Enterprise versions will now be able to click an icon on the VGA2WEB interface to initiate a voice conference call. VGA2WEB will provide the presenter with a phone number and pass code for users, who simply need to dial in to be connected to the voice portion of the conference. The feature adds no cost to the VGA2WEB solution and there are no conference service charges for the customer. Sandler added, “With this reservation-less voice conferencing feature, users can now set-up ad hoc conference bridges just as easily as they can project the contents of their desktops to the web. For the first time, multi-media web conferencing is truly accessible to all businesses, including SOHO users, teleworkers and small businesses.”

VGA2WEB instant web conference solution is a fraction of the cost of other web collaboration alternatives. It installs in seconds, works with any server or operating system, and requires no software to be downloaded to the presenter or user’s computer. The presenter simply plugs his or her laptop or monitor into a VGA cable that attaches to the VGA2WEB product. Remote participants simply open a web browser and enter a password to access the visual content of courses, presentations, meetings and more. VGA2WEB, including the new voice conference feature, is available immediately from Epiphan Systems. More information can be found at www.epiphan.com, or by calling +1 (613) 482-4613.
