Palo Alto, CA, October 30, 2018 – Epiphan Video, a leader in professional audiovisual capture, recording, and streaming products is announcing the addition of advanced network security features to their popular Epiphan Pearl™ family of all-in-one video switcher, streamer, and recorder systems.
“These security features make Pearl products extremely IT friendly” says David Kirk, Vice President of Marketing at Epiphan. “The days of AV engineers having to circumvent corporate IT security policies are gone. Managed device authentication and encryption for both content and control are built right in.”
Corporations are constantly improving internal and external communications by leveraging the power of video and live video in particular. Combining AV and IT technology makes adding video gear to the corporate network possible, even easy. Your AV equipment needs to be every bit as secure as network servers and other IT infrastructure. The last thing an IT team needs is a piece of gear on the network that can compromise the security of the network or put confidential content at risk.
“Protecting the network and the content flowing through the network is paramount,” says Kirk, “and as more of that content is live video, in order for AV gear to be IT friendly it needs to be security savvy.”
Along with 802.1x, Pearl firmware upgrade 4.6.0 includes HTTPS, RTMPS and the certificate management that these protocols require. These new additions complement existing security features such as LDAP integration and secure file transfer via SFTP.
