Where is drivers for Epiphan VGA2USB adapter on Raspberry Pi?

Unfortunately we only build binary drivers for major Linux distributions on x86 and x86_64 processors. Currently the list of supported distributions is Fedora, RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, and Suse. You can download these drivers here: https://ssl.epiphan.com/downloads/linux/

We had previously built drivers for the Raspberry Pi as a test, however this was a long time ago on an old version of the Rasbperry Pi hardware and an old version of the Raspbian OS. We decided not to add support for this platform mainly due to the performance limitations we found; the capture framerate was less than 1 frame per second.

For capturing video signals like VGA, HDMI, or DVI onto an ARM platform via USB then I would recommend you consider our AV.io HD instead. As this is a UVC/UAC device it just requires that the OS support UVC/UAC and be of a kernel version 3.5.0 or greater. Though please note that the performance may still be limited on an ARM platform. You can find details on the AV.io HD here: https://www.epiphan.com/products/avio-hd/

Hi Adam! Is there a chance to use the mentioned driver for our small test?

I’m sorry, we don’t have a VGA2USB driver for Raspberry Pi available. I mentioned we previously built this for a test, but it was years ago. This old test driver would have been for older versions of the Raspberry Pi, older versions of our capture devices, and older versions of the Raspbian OS. It wouldn’t work with anything current, and if it did it would have less than 1 frame per second performance even then…

If you are planning on using a small form factor system with a capture device I would recommend finding a platform with USB 3 support and using the AV.io HD.
