I’ve had a chance to fiddle with the Revesun HDMI switch which Marta was showing. My conclusion is that it has scaling on the output only, and not on each input. So it actually switches pretty seamlessly if you have matched inputs, but if they differ in format (I tried one 1080i input and one 1080p input) you get disturbing glitching on each transition. The X2 never goes dark, though as the output is held at a fixed resolution (I had it set to 1080p).
When I connected two 1080p sources to the switch, the output was seamless, and the transition was really quite fast, monitoring the HDMI output on the Webcaster X2.
Maybe the Shinybow has scalers on each input? Wondering whether you’ve tried any tests with disparate input resolutions on it.
Cheers
Ron
ps. On the youtube comments, Marta indicated she saw similar issues when switching between 1080p/i sources.
