Migrating from DVI2PCIe Duo card to DVI2USB 3.0

I am considering replacing the DVI2PCIe Duo card (currently in use in our systems) by the DVI2USB 3.0.
Will that require major changes our the software ? In other words, are the API for each card identical, with minor differences, or with major differences ?
N.B: we are (still) using Windows 7 as the OS.

On Windows we use a unified driver for both USB and PCIe, using them is nearly identical from a software perspective.
Keep in mind that Windows 7 is not longer officially supported, by Microsoft or Epiphan, and is not tested with newer driver builds.
