Recording VGA or DVI signal using WhackedTV

WhackedTV is a free application for Mac OS X that allows you to record video and audio captured from external sources. You can download it from the Apple web site:

Step 1: Connect frame grabber

Connect the Epiphan Systems frame grabber to the PC and launch the WhackedTV application.

Step 2: Add video track

Select Add Video Track. A default video capture device preview should open.

Step 3: Configure WhackedTV

Go back to the WhackedTV main window and select Settings beside the video track.

Select Settings

Navigate to Source tab to change the input device (if multiple video devices installed).

Navigate to Compression tab to select codec settings.

Navigate to Adjustments tab to tune the color of the captured image.

Adjustments tab

Click OK to close the Settings window.

Step 4: Record video

Press Record to record video. Press Stop when finished.

Press Record

Your recorded video should open automatically in QuickTime player if the recording is sucessful.
