How to Record VGA or DVI signal using HackTVCarbon
HackTVCarbon is a free and easy to use application for Mac OS X that allows you to record video captured from external sources. You can download it from the Apple web site:

This how-to will cover everything that you need to know to get HackTVCarbon working in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Connect frame grabber
Connect the frame grabber to the PC and launch the HackTVCarbon application.
Step 2: Configure recording settings
From the HackTVCarbon Monitor menu, select Video Settings and then Source. Select frame grabber to record from.

Now navigate to the "Compression" tab and select video codec to be used, as well as the quality of the video.

Use the "Adjustments" tab to correct brightness and contrast. Press "OK" to exit the Video Settings window.

Step 3: Record the video
From the Monitor menu, select Full Size.

From the Monitor menu, select Record Until MouseClick.

Specify name and location of file to be created.

Mousclick anywhere on the screen to stop the recording.

Congratulations! You have just recorded a video using HackTVCarbon for Mac OS X!
