VGA2USB LR has been superseded by DVI2USB 3.0. We recommend customers to consider DVI2USB 3.0 instead of VGA2USB LR. Advantages of DVI2USB 3.0 compared to VGA2USB LR include:

American Video Systems, Inc. provides SMATV, MATV, CATV, CCTV Televisions Systems and specializes in Teleconferencing Solutions and Audio Visual Systems for Conference and/or Training Room environments. The company recently deployed the Epiphan VGA2USB LR frame grabber device to meet a client's unique needs.

Charles White of AVS explains, “The intensive care unit (ICU) did not have any conduits for VGA signals, yet it required the addition of secondary monitors to VGA devices within the ICU, all while running the signal through another computer… VGA2USB was the only such solution that I could find.”

Mr. White paired each VGA output with a VGA2USB LR device. The VGA2USB LR digitizes and sends the video signal to a separate computer, from which the image can be shown on a high-resolution computer monitor in real-time. The VGA2USB LR is able to transfer 100% lossless diagnostic-quality images, meaning that the image on the secondary monitor is perfectly identical to the one on the original medical device.

Furthermore, as VGA2USB LR devices are capable of recording and broadcasting VGA signals via software installed on the PC, the system that AVS has put in place can be easily expanded to add more features and since an SDK is available, the hospital would be able to incorporate the VGA2USB LR directly into their own software solutions.

VGA2USB LR is a frame grabber capture device that acquires frames with up to 1280×1024 pixel resolution in a 24-bit palette. VGA2USB LR can achieve 1280×1024 lossless compression with up to 51 fps, depending on the content being captured.
