Training Users to use Ventilators with Epiphan VGA2USB

Ventilators Screenshot made with VGA2USBCardinal Health is an $87 billion global manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical supplies and technologies, such as ventilators. To provide user training, the company uses the Epiphan VGA2USB frame grabber device.

Thomas George, RRT—the Clinical Education Manager for Respiratory Technologies at Cardinal Health—explains: "We use VGA2USB to take screenshots (such as the example shown) from our ventilators to assist us in training. We have also grabbed frames for diagnosing problems, and we send the captures to our customers so that they may do the same."

Before using the Epiphan frame capture device, George says, "We used WinTV with a switchbox, but it didn't work well for our purposes."

He is most impressed with the product's ease of set-up and operation, versatility—because it can be used with many of the company's products—and size, because his trainers travel a lot. "VGA2USB allows us, in presentation format, to demonstrate modes, settings, and patient activity on our ventilators."
