1. What is the difference between VGA Recorder Standard and VGA Recorder Lite?
VGA Recorder Lite, besides being a lower-priced portable version of the VGA Recorder Standard broadcast solution, has several fundamental differences between itself and the VGA Recorder Standard. Firstly, VGA Recorder Lite has lower maximum capture rate when compared to the VGA Recorder Standard. Finally, the VGA Recirder Lite does not have support for an audio stream, while the VGA Recorder Standard has support for a stereo audio signal.
2. Does VGA Recorder Lite work with the Gigabit Ethernet interface only?
The VGA Recorder Lite was designed for Gigabit Ethernet networks, meaning that a Gigabit Ethernet connection is required on the local area network (LAN) for optimal performance. VGA2WEB Lite will also work with older 100BASE-T Fast Ethernet and 10BASE-T networks, but with a reduction in its performance.
3. How many frames per second can VGA Recorder Lite capture?
The capture rate of the VGA Recorder depends on how much change happens from frame to frame. Thus, the capture rate for a signal with a lot of movement will be lower than the capture rate for a signal with little movement. Please refer to the specifications for maximum capture rates.
4. Does VGA Recorder Lite reduce the resolution of the images it captures?
No. VGA Recorder Lite captures and transfers every pixel of the original VGA frame in 24-bits-per-pixel, 8:8:8 format. In this respect, VGA Recorder Lite provides diagnostic-quality images - superior to other solutions such as analog video conversion and transfer.
VGA Recorder Lite can function as a stand-alone device and does not need to be connected to a LAN or the Internet. However, if connected to a LAN or the Internet, the VGA Recorder Lite can automatically archive the recordings it makes to an FTP server. As well, a connection to a LAN or the Internet allows the user to remotely manage and access the recordings that VGA Recorder Lite makes.
Please contact us. We are always looking for ways to improve our system and may be willing to add support for this mode.
7. How can I configure the VGA Recorder Lite?
Although the VGA Recorder Lite is a simple "plug-and-play" device, configuration can be performed through an intuitive web interface or through the USB remote provided.
8. What compression does VGA Recorder Lite use?
VGA Recorder Lite is compatible with many different video compression formats and codecs. The compression to be used for recording can be set by the user.
