Yes. VGADVI Broadcaster then allows you choose if the HD and SD channels will be broadcast as one stream or two independent streams.
VGADVI Broadcaster performs on-board compression such that a 100 Mbps network connection should provide enough capacity for effective transmission of video streams transmitted.
The Ethernet connector is also the source of power for VGADVI Broadcaster. If your network does not provide Power over Ethernet (PoE - spec: IEEE 802.3af class 0 ), you will need to use an Power over Ethernet injector as provided with your device.
VGADVI Broadcaster can capture at rates up to 30 FPS. The actual capture rate of the VGADVI Broadcaster will depend on the CODEC and other settings such as original source resolution, frame size, bit rates and quality vs. speed settings configured for your application.
Please refer to the device's specifications and documentation for guidelines and examples to achieve the ideal frame rate for your applications.
VGADVI Broadcaster can preserve the original resolution of the images captured by setting the frame size of the channel captured to match the resolution of the source.
VGADVI Broadcaster can also perform real time scaling of the incoming source resolution and render to the frame size chosen in the stream setup configuration menus.
Configuring the frame size for the HD channel and SD channel allows you to create different visual layouts during streaming and recording of the broadcast event
VGADVI Broadcaster does not need to be connected to a LAN or the Internet. VGADVI Broadcaster can function as a stand-alone device or directly connected to the Ethernet port of a computer. In the case of stand alone modes, VGADVI Broadcaster will require use of a Power over Ethernet injector in order to provide power to the device. Please consult the product documentation for instructions on how to configure the device for stand alone modes.
However, if connected to a LAN or the Internet, the VGADVI Broadcaster can automatically archive the recordings it makes to an FTP server. As well, a connection to a LAN or the Internet allows the user to remotely manage and access the recordings that VGADVI Broadcaster makes.
VGADVI Broadcaster analyses the source signals in order to automatically determine the incoming source resolution. If VGADVI Broadcaster does not support the resolution you provide, Please contact us. We are always looking for ways to improve our products to add support for this mode.
Although the VGADVI Broadcaster is a simple "plug-and-play" device, configuration can be performed through an intuitive web interface. Advanced users may also use HTTP API commands.
VGADVI Broadcaster is compatible with many different video compression formats and codecs. The compression to be used for recording can be set by the user. Please consult the Stream Setup menu or the product documentation for the most recent list of CODECs supported by VGADVI Broadcaster.
VGADVI Broadcaster can stream to tablets, phones , viewers, browsers that support MJPEG, MPEG4 or H.264. iPADs support MJPEG streaming and Apple HTTP Live Streaming technology.
With VGADVI Broadcaster, MJPEG streaming to iPad can be used , however MJPEG presents some limitations such as no audio and latency.
Unfortunately, streaming to iPAD using Apple HTTP Live Streaming technology requires higher bandwidth, additional processing power and will have inherently large latency.
Users may also publish their streams to iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices using a Content Distribution Network.

The VGADVI Broadcaster product documentation provides an expanded trouble shooting guide to help ensure your system is setup correctly.
Some things to check quickly in the following order:
|1||Ensure the 3 LED lights on the face plate are flashing||Confirm power is on|
|2||Ensure sure the lights on the Ethernet port are flashing. Note that flashing lights confirm Ethernet is working, but you also need to make sure TCP/IP configuration is working ( see below )||Ethernet connection is working|
|3||Connect a VGA/DVI monitor to the DVI out port to make sure the incoming display port and associated cables are working properly||HD Source is working, HD Source cables are working|
|4||Connect your camera output into a matching S-video/Composite input on a TV input to||Ensures analog video cables and analog camera is setup to provide video out (some cameras are tricky)|
|5||Connect headsets to audio out||Confirms analog audio source and cables into device are working|
|6||Run the Epiphan Network Discovery tool or the EpiphanTouch application to find the IP Address of the VGADVI Broadcaster ( Lecture Broadcaster is up and running and connected to the IP network )
If you cannot connect over the IP network, you will not be able to administer the device. You can try a direct connection in order to confirm the VGADVI Broadcaster is working and therefore isolating a network issue

VGADVI Broadcaster supports a number streaming protocols (HTTP, RTP over RTSP, UDP or HTTP) that provide different scalability and underlying network configuration trade offs. HTTP streaming architectures are the simplest, but don't offer the level of scalability of multicast and content distribution network architectures. Please consult the product documentation for further information.
VGADVI Broadcaster provides multiple mechanisms to brand your streams and recordings. The stream setup menus provide a mechanism to apply timestamp, text such as event name, copyright, time, date, etc. Graphical presentation of the streaming windows can be modified using XLST templates. Branding and graphics can be applied during the video editing process. If you plan to add branding during post production, care should be taken in the layout of the windows so that there is room for the branding you wish to apply.
Compared to VGADVI Recorder, VGADVI Broadcaster has extended functionality and support for broadcasting modes, including CDN support. Furthermore, Lecture Recorder x2 capture firmware is optimized for recording slides and presentations while VGADVI Broadcaster's firmware is optimized to record any computer-generated content.
