VGA2WEB Lite, besides being a lower-priced portable version of the VGA2WEB Standard broadcast solution, has several fundamental differences between itself and the VGA2WEB Standard. The VGA2WEB Lite supports transfer rates of 1 frame per second only, whereas the VGA2WEB Standard can function at 15 frames per second. VGA2WEB Lite does not have support for an audio stream, while the VGA2WEB Standard has support for a stereo audio signal.

2. Does VGA2WEB Lite work with the Gigabit Ethernet interface only?

The VGA2WEB Lite was designed for Gigabit Ethernet networks, meaning that a Gigabit Ethernet connection is required on the local area network (LAN) for optimal performance. VGA2WEB Lite will also work with older 100BASE-T Fast Ethernet and 10BASE-T networks, but with a reduction in its performance.

3. How many frames per second can VGA2WEB Lite transfer?

VGA2WEB transfers up to 1 frame per second at any given resolution up to 1600 x 1200.

4. Does VGA2WEB Lite reduce the resolution of the images it captures in order to transfer it over Ethernet?

No. VGA2WEB Lite captures and transfers every pixel of the original VGA frame in 24-bits-per-pixel, 8:8:8 format. In this respect, VGA2WEB Lite provides diagnostic-quality images - superior to other solutions such as analog video conversion and transfer.

5. Can VGA2WEB Lite function over a Local Area Network (LAN) or does it need a constant connection to the Internet?

VGA2WEB Lite can act as its own web server, meaning that it has the ability to function in LAN environments which are not connected to the Internet. In this case, only viewers that are part of the LAN are able to view the broadcast.

6. The video mode that I am using is not listed in the list of supported modes for VGA2WEB Lite. Can VGA2WEB Lite capture it?

7. How can I configure the VGA2WEB Lite?

Although the VGA2WEB Lite is a simple "plug-and-play" device, configuration can be performed through an intuitive web interface.

VGA2WEB Lite uses an encrypted JPEG stream to transfer data to the audience of the VGA2WEB Lite-powered broadcast.
