1. What is the difference between VGA Broadcaster Standard and VGA Broadcaster Lite?

VGA Broadcaster Lite, unlike VGA Broadcaster Standard, does not have the capability to broadcast an audio signal. Furthermore, VGA Broadcaster is able to broadcast at significantly higher frame rates than the Lite version.

2. Can VGA Broadcaster transmit a JPEG stream?

In its standard configuration, VGA Broadcaster does not have the capability to transmit a non-motion JPEG stream. However, if needed, support for JPEG compression can be enabled. Please contact us for further details or indicate that you require JPEG support when ordering.

3. How many frames per second can VGA Broadcaster transfer?

VGA Broadcaster transfers up to 30 frames per second in most scenarios.

4. Does VGA Broadcaster reduce the resolution of the images it captures in order to transfer it over Ethernet?

No. VGA Broadcaster Lite captures and transfers every pixel of the original VGA frame in 24-bits-per-pixel, 8:8:8 format. In this respect, VGA Broadcaster  provides diagnostic-quality images - superior to other solutions such as analog video conversion and transfer.

5. Can VGA Broadcaster function over a Local Area Network (LAN) or does it need a constant connection to the Internet?

VGA Broadcaster can act as its own web server, meaning that it has the ability to function in LAN environments which are not connected to the Internet. In this case, only viewers that are part of the LAN are able to view the broadcast.

6. The video mode that I am using is not listed in the list of supported modes for VGA Broadcaster. Can VGA Broadcaster capture it?

Please contact us. We are always looking for ways to improve our system and may be willing to add support for this mode.

7. How can I configure the VGA Broadcaster?

Although the VGA Broadcaster is a simple "plug-and-play" device, configuration can be performed through an intuitive web interface.

8. What compression does VGA Broadcasteruse to transfer data over Ethernet?

VGA Broadcaster uses ASF (MPEG4), Flash Video (H.263) or MJPEG video stream to transfer data to the audience of the VGA Broadcaster-powered webcast. These streams may be viewed by video applications such as VLC, Windows Media Player and others. Please contact us if you require static JPEG support.

9. What is the difference between VGA Broadcaster and VGA2WEB?

VGA Broadcaster is a continuation in the VGA2WEB series of products, which are now discontinued. While the features of VGA Broadcaster are similar to that of the VGA2WEB, VGA Broadcaster is able to transmit DVI or VGA video in a much wider variety of formats, including MPEG4 and Flash Video, and can achieve significantly higher frame rates.
