No. PathConsult and PathConsult Pro is a plug and play all-in-on telepathogly solution that requires no additional software.
Yes. Both PathConsult and PathConsult Pro allow you choose if the HD and SD channels will be broadcast as one stream or two independent streams.
PathConsult and PathConsult Pro both perform on-board compressions such that a 100 Mbps network connection should provide enough capacity for effective transmission of video streams transmitted.
The Ethernet connector is also the source of power for PathConsult and PathConsult Pro. If your network does not provide Power over Ethernet (PoE - spec: IEEE 802.3af class 0 ), you will need to use a Power over Ethernet injector as provided with your device.
PathConsult and PathConsult Pro support a number streaming protocols (HTTP, RTP over RTSP, UDP or HTTP) that provide different scalability and underlying network configuration trade offs. HTTP streaming architectures are the simplest, but don't offer the level of scalability of multicast and content distribution network architectures. It is important to note that PathConsult has capacity of up to 10 viewers while PathConsult Pro has capacity of 100 or more viewers. Please consult the product documentation for further information.
The PathConsult or PathConsult Pro product documentation provides an expanded trouble shooting guide to help ensure your system is setup correctly.

|6||Run the Epiphan Network Discovery tool or the EpiphanTouch application to find the IP Address of the Lecture Recorder x2 ( Lecture Recorder is up and running and connected to the IP network )
If you cannot connect over the IP network, you will not be able to administer the device. You can try a direct connection in order to confirm the Lecture Recorder x2 is working and therefore isolating a network issue
|• Confirm Ethernet and TCP/IP configuration is correct.|
|7||Confirm the capture frame size is the same or lower than the resolution of the source||• Ensures the output fits into the output frame|
|8||Choose to Configure the system as a single stream output or independent streams.||• This choice will determine the frame sizes you want to choose in order to have the best user experience.
• For example with independent streams, floating windows can be resized/moved by the end-user, whereas both streams to the same window, the user will not expect to resize/move the windows
