Epiphan Systems Releases VGA2USB LR External Compact Frame Grabber

Epiphan Systems has launched the most versatile device in its’ VGA2USB series of frame grabbers - the VGA2USB LR. VGA2USB LR is an external frame grabber, about the size of a box of paperclips, and uses the USB 2.0 bus for output. At a price of USD 799.95, the VGA2USB LR boasts capture resolutions of up to 1280x1024 at a frame rate of at least 30 frames per second. This is achieved through Epiphan’s pre-compression technology – a sophisticated compression algorithm that identifies and removes artifacts and noise that can be created when converting from an analog VGA signal. Combined with the onboard buffer memory and progressive scanning, VGA2USB LR achieves absolutely lossless picture quality and extremely high capture rates.

VGA2USB LR software and drivers are fully compatible with Windows, Mac OS, as well as Linux. As a DirectShow compatible device, frames can be captured with the included software or with any other capture programs. VGA2USB LR has the ability to capture from any VESA-compatible VGA source, including Sync-on-Green and composite sync VGA signals. An SDK is also available.
