Career Coaching Company Expands Business with VGA2WEB

Career Coaching Company Expands Business With Epiphan Systems' VGA2WEB

When developing the business model for his career coaching company, CareerJoy, Alan Kearns wanted to focus his clientele on business leaders."We work with business leaders to help them be effective at what they do, and we work with business people in transition who want to become more effective in their careers," Kearns explains. To grow his business while focusing on this target market, CareerJoy needed to reach out to clients beyond its physical locations.

"About 50% of our business is done via telecoaching," Kearns explains. "We try to do as much as possible to enrich the client's experience of that service."That's why he's is a self-described "early adopter of web presentation technology. We are always trying to think outside of the box, we are always looking for tools, resources and technology that will help us bring our services in new ways to new clients."

Kearns has used various web-based presentation solutions, but now uses Epiphan Systems' VGA2WEB product exclusively. "This is the most fluid and easy-to-use solution I have found," he relates. "With other products, more steps are involved - I would have to upload my presentation in advance of the session. With VGA2WEB it's very simple, and running the presentation from my desktop means that I can make last-minute changes on the fly."

He adds that participants find the solution seamless and easy to use: "They just have to click on a web link - it's very simple - and they find the quality of service good. We've had no complaints."

Taking Presentations to a New Level

Using VGA2WEB, Kearns can also expand the visual component of his interaction with remote clients to include more than just presentation slides. He gives an example, “I can discuss a client's resume at the same time that I am showing the client the changes I'm making in the document. I've had very good feedback using VGA2WEB. It enriches our dialog with clients."

CareerJoy now bases both its one-on-one telecoaching services and its virtual workshops on VGA2WEB, and Kearns says he's noticed a marked increase in revenue. "We offer free virtual workshops as a means of building an initial relationship with potential clients who may need to know what we're all about before committing," he explains. "Our conversion rates are much higher using VGA2WEB than using conference calls only. This technology has made this large part of our business possible, and it is creating new revenue for us.

As for the future, Kearns plans next to offer fee-based workshops over the web as a new client service. He summarizes, "A whole new generation of consumers is out there, willing to purchase products on the web. The services industry is lagging behind in this - but not us. VGA2WEB lets CareerJoy provide a rich experience to clients over the web, and that is allowing us to capture new markets and create new services."
