Epiphan Systems releases the latest drivers for VGA2USB product

VGA2USB VGA Frame Grabber product now includes the ability to create AVI movies on the fly.

1 November 2004 - Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - The world's only compact, external, USB Bus-based VGA signal grabber - capable of capturing output from virtually any VGA source now includes the ability to create AVI movies on the fly, as well as create still images in PNG format says Epiphan Systems, makers of VGA2USB. The product is invaluable in the preparation of documentation, analyzing monitor-less systems and performing quality control on tested systems. It supports any application that requires the acquisition of VGA images, as well as enhancing collaboration sessions.

Mike Sandler, Epiphan's President and CEO, said, "This latest release is yet another build of our technology that reflects what our customers look for in Epiphan products. This, and future releases across our entire product line take into account the features and quality our customers deserve."

Version 1.2.1 of the VGA2USB Driver include the following new features:

1. On-the-fly grab and compress VGA images to an AVI file with codec of your choice.
2. Convert (postprocess) saved series of BMP images to the AVI file (to keep high frame grabbing rate while using slow AVI codec)
3. Save captured images in PNG format.

Coming in the next release...

Epiphan will be launching a streaming driver for VGA2USB which will give the 3rd party applications (like video capture software, MSN Messanger, Windows Media Player, etc...) the ability to recognize and utilize VGA2USB hardware as a standalone video camera.
