Mike Sandler, MSCPresident & CEO Mike Sandler is a seasoned technology entrepreneur in the web and collaboration technology space. He has more than 17 years of management and software development experience in both private and public high technology organizations. In addition to his role as CEO & Founder of Epiphan Systems, Mike is also President & CEO of Mediphan Inc., a company that specializes in the capture, broadcast, and recording of VGA or DVI images from medical equipment. Previously, Mike was vice president of research and development at PointShotWireless, where he worked on North America’s first operational mobile wireless platform for trains. In 1999, Mike founded IPMeeting Inc., a software manufacturer that produced best-of-breed virtual meeting and synchronous collaboration applications. IPMeeting was acquired by DWL Incorporated in 2000, which was acquired by IBM in 2005. Mike began his career working in driver development, Internet, network-based applications, telecommunications and information security during his terms in the Russian Academy of Science, Nortel Networks, Milkyway Technologies, Entrust, Gandalf Technologies, Sterling Software and Alcatel. He later began his own software development business, Epiphan Consulting, which became a leading provider of innovative WindowsCE remote diagnostics tools. Mike received his M.Sc. In Computer Science from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and has been guest lecturer in Carleton University.
Misha Zhilin, MSCCTO & Founder Misha is the driving force behind Epiphan's technology strategy. As Chief Technology Officer, Misha is responsible for maintaining awareness of technologies pertinent to Epiphan Systems Solution suite for potential partnership. Misha provides the vision and strategic leadership in the implementation of technology to further Epiphan's mission and goals. Prior to starting the Epiphan Systems venture, Misha co-founded IPMeeting alongside Mike Sandler, and served as the companies chief engineer. Misha also spent time as a senior systems engineer at Parallel Graphics LLC, a Silicon Graphics company. Prior to that, Misha worked in a development role at ParaGraph International, Inc. Misha has his Masters of Science in applied mathematics from the Moscow State Aviation Institute in Russia.
Steve Ryan,CAChief Operating Officer As COO, Steve Ryan, CA, oversees the day-to-day financial and business operations of Epiphan Systems. Steve brings a solid understanding of the financial and operational needs of a technology-based company to the position. His 12-year career as a chartered accountant includes a position as Financial Controller at Galazar Networks Inc. At Galazar, Steve oversaw the genesis and growth of a telecommunications start-up and raised more than US$22 million in venture capital funding over a two-year period. Previously, Steve was Financial Controller at the Valhalla Inn, and has also held management and senior accounting positions with Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants and KPMG Chartered Accountants. Steve holds his Chartered Accountant designation from the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants and an Honors Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
James SmithSecretary James Smith has been a legal associate with LaBarge Weinstein LLP since July 2000, joining the firm after working with Torys and a small firm in southwestern Ontario. His practice focuses on corporate, securities and commercial law, and has included public and private financings and mergers and acquisitions transactions for a broad range of local technology companies. James is an active member of the Ottawa technology community and is one of the founding board members of the Technology Venture Challenge, a technology business idea competition. He has been a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1996, and was called to the New York State Bar in 2002. |
